ställe founder, Lisa DeMarino, realized her passion for design the day her neighbor gave her a lavender settee. She was four years old. The only girl in a family of boys, she spent her time in a third floor playroom complete with a child-sized kitchen, dining set and doll beds. The settee was to her young eyes, sophisticated and lovely; and rearranging her play furniture to make it the focal point became her focal point. Lisa has been designing spaces ever since.
Since that third floor playroom, Lisa has worked in interior design, merchandising, the nonprofit sector, established and managed a successful chiropractic practice for her husband and is the lucky mom of four amazing children and two dogs.
Throughout the years her life was made complete with opportunities to rehab homes and help others find their palettes and their vibe. Along the way, she has cultivated an amazing list of sources and artisans from small-batch wallpapers from France to artistic lighting handcrafted in South Carolina, all of which allow her to offer design that is uniquely inspired and detailed. In 2016 she committed full time to her passion with the creation of ställe, a full service interior design firm. ställe; the name taken from the Swedish word, smultronställe which means “a favorite place.” Whether it’s your new home, your old home, a real estate investment property, a room or complete rehab, ställe will guide you through your project every step of the way.
